Your Day to Remember: International Panic Day edition

As long as we mark time by calendars, we will have something being recognized each day of the year. Here’s your notice of a day to remember for the upcoming week and how to appropriately honor it. Thanks to National Whatever Day for the help.

This Week’s Day to Remember: International Panic Day — Tuesday

Origin: Well, nobody seems to know. Not even the folks at National Whatever Day could find its beginnings. Don’t know about you, but having a day dedicated to something but no one knows where it came from makes me kind of nervous. I’d hit the panic button, but apparently the origin of that is a little hazy as well

Official Song: “Up All Night” by Widespread Panic. One of my all-time favorite songs by a band with one of the all-time great band names.

Appropriate Gift: Stress balls. The original intent is to squeeze them repeatedly, of course, but I’ve found they’re more effective and stress-reducing when I whip them at a wall. Lowered stress, no damage (unless you’ve got a Nolan Ryan-esque arm or a cat walks in the way), everybody wins. Well, except the cat.

Patron Saint: Buster Bluth. The “Arrested Development” legend freaks out over anything, and God forbid a bird should walk across his pillow
